Ten minutes from Chancery LaneTube. Exit onto High Holborn left where you pass Grays Inn Road on your right. Turn left into Chancery Lane and five minutes down here you will come to the venue on your right before Carey Street.
This Wetherspoon pub is the former Union Bank, and takes its name from the order of Warrior Knights across whose land Chancery Lane was built in the 12th century.
It is named after an ancient order of Warrior Monks – The Knights Templar. Hugues de Payens, Geoffroy de St Omer and seven other French knights founded the order, in Jerusalem, in 1118. King Baldwin II, the French king of Jerusalem (1118–1131), installed the order’s residence, stables and armoury in the part of his palace which was on the site of Solomon’s Temple, from which the order took its name – Knights of the Temple or Templars. The Knights Templar features heavily in The Da Vinci Code – if you look really carefully, during the scene featuring Middle Temple Church, you may spot this beautiful pub.

Event £30.50 New Year's Eve 7.30pm until 2am
Prices includes meal,
DJ plus Mass Fluid Speed Dating from 9.45pm until 10.15pm before DJ kicks off the party. The speed dating is not compulsory but well worth joining in as you will get to talk to 15 members of the opposite sex.
Menu will be chicken & chips with salad.
Please specify if vegetarian so as your meal needs to be preordered.Vegetarian alternative is veggie curry & rice.
MASS SPEED DATING AT BLACK TIE EVENTS
At 10pm after all members have eaten, those who wish to participate will be invited to the dance area to participate in the speed dating. Our helpers will organise everyone into a very large circle and partner members up for their first 2 minute date. The whistle will be blown every 2 minutes when we will ask the men to move to the next lady to their right to chat to her. This process will continue for 30 minutes until 9.30 giving all members participating a chance to chat to 15 members of the opposite sex.
We have found this ice breaker to be extremely successful at other events so feel it will be the best introduction service we could offer on New Year's Eve when we have so many new members.
ALSO HOLDING THE LOCK & KEY GAME
We will also hold our lock & key game throughout the evening to encourage mingling amongst members. We give one colour raffle ticket to the men and other colour to the ladies. Members need to find their matching number and come back to the desk to collect a small prize each.
