The introduction service for our events is the earlier part of the evening arrival 7pm.
The introduction service varies from event to event but there are basically three different formats i.e.
-
speed dating followed by buffet & then party at ba/restaurant venues
- lock & key followed by 2 course meal with seating plans & then party at hotel venues
- three course meals where the men move to different tables between courses & again followed by party with DJ until 1am at very nice hotel venues.
YOU NEED TO COME ON THE INTRODUCTION SERVICE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET A PARTNER
We have a team of 5 of us running each event. When you arrive at 7pm for the introduction service you are welcomed and introduced to other members. This gets members mixing before the start of the speed dating, lock & key or sit down meal where men move tables between courses. We must stress that arrival at 7pm is essential for this part of the evening as we need everyone to be ready to start on time.
SPEED DATING
The men move every three minutes when a whistle is blown until up to 15 moves are completed. We have been told by members that more than this is too exhausting. The food is ready by 8.15p/8.30pm and members collect their food and sit with those they have been speed dating with at this stage of the evening. This is a great way to bond before the party livens up when the party only members start to arrive from 9.15pm.
Numbers can be passed via the organisers to anyone you would like to stay in touch with after the event - this could include new friends you have made of your own sex too remember! We know our format is more relaxed and encourages members to pass numbers on the actual evening, especially with the meal after the speed dating followed by the party with a DJ.
MEAL FORMAT (+ Lock & Key before Two Course Meals)
Members sit man, woman, man, woman and the men move to different tables between courses. This is a very relaxed way to meet other members before the party livens up. On two course meals we usually have Lock & Key from arrival time until we sit down to get members talking to more people than those they would sit with on the meal. We give locks on yellow ribbon to the ladies and keys on purple ribbon to the men. The idea is to get members to try the locks & keys to see if they fit. It really is only a light hearted ice-breaker and you are not expected to stay with anyone who fits your lock/key. The lock & key is simply to get members chatting to everyone at the start of the event.
We find the three course meals already provide a lot of introduction with a move between each couse and it takes at least two hours for the meal at a leisurely pace.
